All sections of the main (front) parking lot, though not yet paved, are open for parking at this time. In order to access the lower floor and the preschool, we must park on the front (main) lot and enter the building via the upper floor entrances.
NEW STUDY – The Joy Class will be starting a new study: “The Rock, the Road and the Rabbi” by Kathie Lee Gifford with Rabbi Jason Sobel. This study includes video discussion questions, Bible exploration, and personal study and reflection materials for in-between sessions. If you are interested in attending Sunday mornings at 9:00 a.m., please let us know so that we may order an appropriate amount of materials. RECOVERY SUNDAY – The Middlesex Ministerial Association invites you to come on Sunday, October 14 at 5:00 p.m. to New Hope Fellowship in Hartfield for a special worship service. This particular service is intended to create awareness of the negative impact of addictions in our county in an atmosphere of prayer and hope. Help us share the invitation with our communities.
CHARGE CONFERENCE – Please plan to attend this year’s Charge Conference – where we conduct the annual business of the church. Lower UMC will again host several local churches of the York River District on Tuesday, October 16th at 7:00 p.m.
RISE AGAINST HUNGER - is an international hunger relief organization that distributes food and life-changing aid to the world’s most vulnerable. On Saturday, October 27th Lower UMC will host a food packaging event where the community will come together to assemble thousands of meals. Make plans now to participate in this rewarding event. Unloading supplies begins at 8:00 a.m. Packing food bags begins at 9:30 a.m.
CHILDREN’S SABBATH AND FALL FESTIVAL - Join us on Sunday, October 28th at the 10:30 worship service for our special Children’s Sabbath. Then make plans to stay after for the Fall Festival presented by the Middlesex YMCA.
BOAZ BOX – Please contribute nonperishable food items as you can. Protein items such as peanut butter, canned tuna/chicken, soup are especially needed.
